Our Mission

The Optical Science and Technology Center of The Univeristy of Iowa offers scientist and engineers from a wide range of disciplines the opportunity to collaborate on important and complex research problems in areas of optical and laser science.

The primary goals of the Center are to:

• Promote research efforts and foster cross-disciplinary interactions in the areas of basic and applied optical science.
• Attract highly qualified students with interests in optical science and technology.
• Pursue funding opportunities for multidisciplinary research projects in optical science and technology.
• Promote interactions with industry in the development and applications of optical technology.
